Why Paralegals?

Paralegals are a new designation created by the Law Society. Their role was to provide budget legal services within a limited scope. For example paralegals are not authorized to appear in front of the divsional court or the court of appeals. Paralegals are also not allowed to file a statement of claim for more than $35,000. Most of the scope of paralegals falls into the legal services an average person may require. For those who are wealthy, they are able to avail the services of a lawyer.

I became interested in the paralegal field in high school. I met a lawyer who suggested to me that I should take up a paralegal position within a college in Toronto. That college was Seneca college.
